Some customers have noted concerns regarding recent negative reviews, expressing skepticism about the quality before trying for themselves. Occasionally, patrons might find the wait times a bit longer during peak hours, especially on weekends. A few reviews mention the use of plastic between the fish and paper, which some people find unnecessary. There are also mixed feelings about the use of microwaves for certain items, which may not align with everyone’s expectations of freshness. However, experiences vary, and many find those concerns are worth overlooking given the overall quality of the meal.
I’ve just polished off my cod, chips and curry sauce, so while it’s fresh in my mind, here’s my review. Before ordering, I spotted a few recent negative reviews online, but I wasn’t put off because my dad’s had it from here before and said it was good. And you always know you’re in a proper chippy when they put that bit of plastic between the fish and the paper so the batter doesn’t stick and tear off — that’s a win straight away. There were plenty of chips and a good-sized piece of fish. I ate about 95% of it, and the dogs were more than happy with the rest. Inside was lovely and clean, and the ladies behind the counter were polite and up for a chat. Go try it yourself and then leave your own review — it’s a lot better than the last few ratings make it look.
